In Perugia, from April 28 to May 1, the annual festival of cheese Ditecheese! (“Say cheese!”) will take place.

Italy: the pilgrims will have to pay to ascend the Scala Santa

To ascend Scala Santa in Rome, the pilgrims will have to pay 1 Euro, reports the Guardian.

Holy Stairs (Scala Santa) are the marble steps of the old Lateran palace, now nonexistent.

According to the legend, the stairs were brought in 326 from Jerusalem by Holy Helena, as it was taken from the palace of Pontius Pilate, and Jesus Christ went up the staircase to the court.

In Germany, cheap tickets for night train are sold

German railways began selling cheap discount tickets for trips in the evenings in the spring.

The cost of such a ticket to any destination within Germany is 19 Euros.

You need only to choose a train departing after 19.00 (except Sundays) and hurry to buy a ticket until the quota is valid, said the correspondent of Travel.ru.

The Museum of Napoleon in Cuba again takes visitors

In Havana, after a three-year reconstruction, Napoleon museum was reopened.

It has the most impressive (outside Europe) collection of rarities since the times of French Revolution and the reign of Napoleon Bonaparte.

Napoleon himself had never been to Cuba.

In Miami, there appeared sightseeing double-decker buses

It is possible to see the sights of Miami going by new double-decker tour buses, which opperate in the city on April 11.

Painted in the traditional red, double-deckers run from 9.00 to 18.00 on various circular routes starting at the Central station and across Miami Beach, Coconut Grove, Little Havana and Coral Gables, with stops near major attractions.

A luxury hotel to open in Florence

A majestic Grand Hotel in Florence was closed for renovation in September 2010. Soon it will opened under a new name – St. Regis.

This 5-star luxury hotel, in addition to 81 standard rooms will also have 19 suites. The hotel will have a spa-center with separate rooms for procedures and butlers’ services, says Travel+Leisure.
